About

A studio that ships.

Founded in 2024, Arc Labs is a technology studio and consultancy based in Pasadena, California. We build real, shipping systems across domains — cognition infrastructure, embedded systems, analytics, media, sports, music, and security — and we run our own products in each, so the advice we give comes from operating, not theorizing.

What We Do
01

Research & Development

Practical solutions in AI safety, security, and content verification — tools that address real problems in how humans and AI systems interact.

02

Educational Technology

Learning tools that adapt to people rather than forcing people to adapt. Accessibility, safety, and personalized experiences first.

03

Consulting & Collaboration

Work with organizations on security challenges, AI implementation, and technical strategy — sharing what we learn through partnerships.

What We're Working Toward

AI systems that preserve human intent. Security that protects without surveilling. Education that adapts to learners instead of demanding they adapt.

These aren't moonshots — they're practical problems we work on today, one project at a time. The Λ° mark is that arc from challenge to solution, built through careful research and iteration.

Core Values
01

Research First

  • Map the landscape before building
  • Understand what exists to avoid reinventing wheels
  • Let prior art inform better approaches
02

Privacy by Design

  • Architecture that makes privacy the default
  • Not an afterthought or opt-in checkbox
  • Data minimization as a core principle
03

Build for the Underserved

  • Neurodivergent learners who need different interfaces
  • Children interacting safely with AI
  • Small organizations without enterprise resources
How We Work

Start with Research

Before building anything, we map what already exists. It prevents reinventing wheels and often surfaces better approaches than our first instinct.

Build Small, Learn Fast

Working prototypes over comprehensive plans. Build the smallest thing that could work, use it, iterate on what we learn.

Design for the Edges

Design for the highest-need users — neurodivergent, children, resource-constrained — and the result works better for everyone.

Share What We Learn

Most of what we discover isn't proprietary. We write about our approaches, publish when we can, and collaborate openly.

Work With Us

For Builders

If you build, break, or teach things in AI safety, security, or education, we probably have something to talk about.

For Partners

We take on a small number of organizations at a time on specific, well-scoped projects. If that's how you like to work, reach out.
